VastServer – VastServer.wik.is

VastPark is reportedly going to use the NICTA p2p technology.

http://www.eccentrotech.com

If this sounds familiar that might be because the defunct Outback Online virtual world was supposedly using the NICTA P2P technology.

I personally would be a bit leary of a website with “eccentro” in it’s name  associated with a virtual world than never reached pre-alpha.

Eccentro’s site says

” We have developed highly scalable, robust and efficient technology for creation and deployment of large-scale virtual worlds that are persistent, collaborative, interconnected and interactive. We have designed network architecture that can support unlimited number of users in a virtual world.

Using this technology, virtual world developers can create large-scale virtual worlds that are interlinked to form a virtual world web.

Our technology utilises a peer-to-peer network for spatially indexing the virtual world thereby providing unlimited scalabilty. “

There aren’t any virtual worlds actually using the distributed networking system described at eccentrotech.com are there?
