It’s 4:00 am in my part of the world, 17:05 pm in Hipihi time, which is Beijing time.
This is the first day of the Hipihi open beta.
There are 40 people in-world at the moment. I think this is the most I’ve seen inworld since I joined in June.
There’s a conversation in Chinese I can’t make out at all …. unless i click on the line in chat, press control C, paste it into Google translate – a tedious process.
Why can’t the virtual world producers see how nice it would be to have machine translation built in?
I just installed a plugin for Open Office that automatically puts copied text from OO into Google translate.
How hard could it be to build a Google translation gadget into a virtual world browser?
